a Woman Finds Her Voice

Of all the glorious gifts a woman has to share with
the world, one of the most powerful and effective gifts is her
magnificent voice, Too often on the way to womanhood a young girl will
loose her voice somewhere in the sea of mixed messages like "Nice
girls should be seen and not heard." We all wanted to be "nice
girls" because there was a reward for being nice and a punishment
if we were not nice. In the process, we shoved our beautiful voices deep
down inside of us where they couldn’t be heard and get us in trouble.
In patriarchal cultures, woman are taught from
birth that they have no voice at all. The major decisions in their
lives, families and countries are all made by males. Speaking up in
those societies is down right life threatening. How sad that this
beautiful world is being deprived of the spiritual wisdom and vibrations
that can only come from the sounds of a wise woman’s voice. No wonder
the world is full of anger, chaos, and on the brink of wars. Too many of
us live in fear of speaking up
and "voicing" our opinion in our own
lives, never mind speaking out to the world.
How does a woman find the voice she lost so many
years ago? The answer lies in the strength and support she gets from
others just like her. As women today, it’s vital that we find our
voices again and add our harmonies to the world chorus for peace. One
solo voice like Oprah’s is very powerful, two can add harmonies to the
song , four voices are a quartet. As each voice is added, all singing
the same song, we will have greater harmonies
and the combined vibrations of our words and music
will sound like one powerful voice that can not be quieted.
Speaking or singing, it really doesn’t matter as
long as our words are in sync, our song is joyous and our voices are
strong. So let’s all find that voice we lost somewhere in our young
past and join together in the chorus for peace. Never mind if the
language is different as long as we are all in harmony and
singing the same music we can fill the world with our glorious gift of
voice and together we will drowned out the discord chorus that has become the predominating world
sound. Let your voice be heard!
